Content Managers

Content Managers of varying sophistication are used to assist users to create their web pages.
These are designed to make it easy for a non-expert user to create sophisticated content with using HTML if they desire.

If a website needs new or special Content Managers to be created, this can be done for an economical charge, provided they can be re-used on other websites.

  To replicate any other content manager and allow the creation of more complex content and layout via repetitions.
• Metatags Content Manager
  Allows the user to create HTML Metatags for Search engines, page encoding, other specialised functions.
• Header Content Manager
  Allows Header-style text to be created.
  Text "As is" Content Manager
  Allows the user to create text to be displayed as is without the need for HTML. The properties of the text are controlled by the site style-sheet.
• Single Section Content Manager
  Allows creation and display of page sections which each have a Header, Text Section, and an Image. A range of alignments and properties allow for variation in appearance and relationship of the elements.

  • This content-manager has WYSIWYG editing capability which senses if a site manager is using a compliant browser and builds a HTML editing display rather like that of Microsoft's HTML e-mail editors. It is based on capability built into Microsoft Windows Virtual Machine. Full HTML code can be displayed optionally.
• Image Content Manager
  • Allows the user to display an image on a page.

    • The Image can be resized to the size of the user's choice on upload.
• Image with Link Content Manager
  • Allows the user to display an image on page and specify a http link without needing to do HTML.

    • The Image can be resized to the size of the user's choice on upload.
• Image Rollover Content Manager
  • Allows the user to display an image on a page and specify a second image which will be visible when the visitor's mouse hovers over the image location.

    • The two Images are resized to the one size chosen by the user on upload.
• Thumbnail with Popup Content Manager
  • Allows the user to display a thumbnail image on a page and specify a larger second image which will be popped up in a second window when the visitor clicks the thumb image.
  • Alignments and properties allow for variation in appearance and relationship of the image to other elements.

    • The sizes of the thumb and Popup image are specified during site construction, one uploaded image is resized to create the two images.
• Hyperlink Content Manager
  This Content Manager can hold other Content Managers, which will then link to the specified http link without the user needing to do HTML.
• Grid Content Manager
  Allows vertical and horizontal replication of rows and columns, and extends this further by allowing fully functional grids inside grid elements, thereby allowing a very high level of flexibility of page layout.

NOTE: It is not necessary to understand or use HTML code to maintain even a sophisticated Shopetools site, since we have created special HTML-free maintenance tools for users who so not want to worry about HTML, including WYSIWYG content editing tools. (See Content Managers above)

The overall cost of a site created using our sophisticated system will depend on the design parameters and number of content-managers required. It is NOT affected by the number of pages.

The sophisticated sites can also have a range managers, each responsible for maintaining their section, and unable to edit other sections.

Completely customised functions can be built into these sites for negotiated costs, so they can be made to do whatever is required.
